Chocolate Art

I have a habit of being early to things and, the other night, I was about 20 minutes early to a dinner at Sushi Bayashi in the Trinity Groves area of Dallas. I decided to walk around and check out the area and came across Kate Weiser Chocolate. I am a self-proclaimed choco-holic – 100% addicted to coco – so of course, I had to go in.

The chocolates in the display case were little pieces of art. I started chatting with the lady behind the counter and she told me all about how the chocolates are all hand painted. They were in the process of painting some of the chocolates while I was in the store and invited me back to watch their process. It was really interesting and I couldn’t wait to see if the chocolates tasted as delicious as they looked. The chocolatiers paint on a regular basis and you can see the process take place from the shop, so I definitely recommend watching the process when this happens!

From Caramelized Pineapple, Mango Habanero, Lavender Apricot, to Fresh Mint, the flavor profiles are creative and delightful. I bought some Strawberry Basil, Passion Fruit, and Truffle Honey chocolates they completely melted in my mouth. Absolutely delicious.

In all, if you are looking for a tasty chocolate treat for you or a loved one, Kate Weiser Chocolate are sure to take you to choco-holic heaven.

  1. I love Trinity Groves! My favorite restaurant there is LUCK. And I’ve been in the Kate Weiser Chocolate Shop. But I have never tried any of her truffles. Maybe next time, I’ll get the chance!

    1. Hey Kandriot1 – thanks for the comment! I love Trinity Groves too. Have you ever tried Sushi Bayashi or Casa Rubia? They are definitely my two favorites places in the Groves & you can read about my experiences there in the Dallas Food section of this blog. I will have to go back soon and try LUCK. Any suggestions on what to get there?

      1. I am such a creature of habit (lol) every time I have been to Trinity Groves (except for once) I have been to LUCK. I will totally read about your experiences at Trinity Groves and at other locations in the Dallas area.

Well my favorite part about LUCK is that specialize in selling locally owned and brewed beers. Last time I went I had Peticolas’ Great Scot! It ended up tasting great. Then I had the Grilled Romaine with Grilled Chicken. Which was also very tasty.

      2. It is so hard to try new things once you find something you love at a place, huh?!

LUCK sounds awesome and I will definitely put it on the list. Have you been to Eureka in Uptown? That is where I was introduced to Peticolas and some other amazing local brews. They too have a great amount on tap and really good eats! If you are in the area I highly recommend it as well. (http://www.eurekarestaurantgroup.com)

One of the best things about Dallas is the amount of awesome places to go! Let me know if you try any of those and how you like them. Happy eating (and drinking)!
